Our Story

Vegissimo was born from personal experiences in our family. Klara (myself) had a very severe eczema from a young age, especially on the face. It made me feel really uncomfortable. After giving birth to my son, the eczema worsened. Skin rashes covered my whole body literally. Two years ago, I decided to make some changes and cut out meat completely from my diet. It did not improve my skin condition at all. To continue my experiment, I then left dairy out completely, within three weeks my eczema was almost completely gone. From that on, I closely monitored how my skin reacts to certain foods, it also turned out I am allergic to soy. 

 

It was hard at the beginning, as I had to find alternative products - that actually taste nice - replacing dairy, meat and soy. Eventually, I got the hang of it. Roland, my partner, also started to enjoy my cooked meals with lots of different vegetables. It made him feel better as his blood pressure tended to be high. He was the ultimate meat-eater, but he also gave a try to plant-based milk to his coffee, which he also approved on. Roland noticed his blood pressure lowered, so he joined me for a few months on a vegan diet. Now, he became a flexitarian who eats meat (rarely) every now and then or when his body craves it. 
 

Many people we know and met went through similar health issues - either developed in recent times or were born with it - that triggered certain dietary requirements. Some people just needed periodical vegan diets, some had to completely change their diet, some found exactly what foods caused their health concerns and replaced it with other nutritious foods. In the last few years, my partner and I searched and selected plant-based and vegan products that we have tested and found not only delicious but containing nutrition that benefit our overall health.
